The voltage drop across the shunt is a linear function of current.

Used mainly in DC complete with magnetoelectric measuring instruments.
When measuring small currents (up to 30A) shunt inserted 75RI into the housing.
In the measurement of large currents (up to 7500A) applied external shunts.
Shunts are divided into classes of accuracy: 0.02, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.5.
Rated current - 0.3 A-0, 75A, 1,5 A-7, 5A, 15A, 30A, 75A.
To expand the limits of measurement devices used for voltage calibrated resistors, called additional resistance.
